gathering

DEFINED

bringing together, in some form.

IN USE

Acts of gathering are juxtaposed here: the use of tools to harness and collect various forms of data; the process of employing those tools or part of, to uncover the micropolitics of a location or event, and the assemblage of that as research. The project website is a live ‘research-assemblage’ that exists to understand what knowledge can be produced of and within situated studies that work

Q: How might it be possible to ‘gather’ information in a way that moves outside of the ‘european’ mode of archiving and ‘using’ archives, and passing down information? How can we use tools to reveal biases that have historically been obscured in ‘gathering’?
